My Letter To The World

Dear World,

I am taking the time to write you today to say that after enduring years of your abuse, I am finally cutting the ties--we're through. I'm done listening to you. I'm done looking to you for my self-esteem and feelings of self-worth.

You've constantly told me I'm not pretty enough, not skinny enough, not smart enough, not......enough. Well, I would like to tell you that you have been vastly mistaken about me. You see I met the Creator of the Universe a few years ago and He told me that He treasures me. To Him I am wonderfully and fearfully made!!

It has taken me quite a while to actually grasp this concept and I feel pretty stupid that I didn't get it, but after all I had you screaming in my ears. But I have finally turned you off, and tuned you out. What you have to offer doesn't entice me anymore. I have seen with my own eyes the destruction you cause to young girls. I have felt with my own heart what your morales have done to the people I love most.

So, you can quite trying to snag me. I am out of your grasp....finally! Praise the Lord! I have been freed from the chains of your oppression. I have let go of your ideals and am clinging to God's ideals for me.

I am beautiful and smart. I am a worthwhile person. I am likable. I am a woman. I am me.....the only me there is, the only me there will ever be!

So, don't waste your energy on me, world, because I am way out of your league.
