How To Fold Cloth Diapers

For my friends who use cloth dipes. Here is a brochure I got from our diaper service (back when we had one) on different ways to fold your dipes. I've consulted it often. I hope it is useful to my cloth diaper sisters as well! (click on images to enlarge)

We use the Diaper Wrap fold for Blue-Eyed Boy. That seems to work best for him because he pees a lot, and it has a lot of dipe in the front for boys. That fold only works well though for an older baby who has more solid poo, otherwise it gets all over. We tried the girl variation for Red-Haired Girl but all it accomplished was poo EVERYWHERE! We have been using the Angel Wrap fold for her. It works well because it makes gussets around her legs so poo can't leak out. We also add an extra small fold at the back to keep the poo from going out the back of the diaper.

I just have to say that I love cloth diapers. If you are going to be having a baby anytime soon (or even if you already have one!) and are debating whether to use cloth or disposable diapers I highly recommend cloth. Cloth are much much more reliable. Anytime I have used disposable diapers I have been disappointed. And contrary to popular opinion cloth is not a lot of work.

Cloth diapering has come a long way since your Grandmother's day (just ask mine!). Even if you use the "old-fashioned" pre-folds and diaper covers like I do. Do a little research and check out what's out there. You will be surprised at how easy and convenient cloth diapering can be!

Wow, that was very useful and informative. (just kidding)

But seriously, I just want to echo Red-Headed Beauty's sentiment that cloth is the way to go. It sometimes feels like more work, but it's worth it.

Now see, I must respectfully disagree. I'm glad they work for you, but honestly, I was never disappointed by a disposable diaper. Cloth diapers let me down time and time again, ending up costing me time and money in cleaning furniture, carpeting, etc.

I LOVE cloth diapering!! soo easy and not at all like the old fashioned stuff. we don't use the prefolds anymore because i hate to fold them and put cover over them. also its easier for hubby to use the "new" diapers. But there was a time when I used PF's and Flats with a snappi. but now i love my bum genius and baby kanga diapers!

ps...i still have the organic chinese PF's if you still want them
