My Pregnancy Week 16

Well, I missed a week.....rats and I was doing so well! Anyways...

I must say that being pregnant during the holidays is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! I love it! I didn't get to experience this phenomenon last time, so it is neat to get to this time. All I did for Thanksgiving was EAT and eat and eat some more......yummy. And what better a thing to be thankful for than the constant reminder of the little miracle growing inside of me.

I am so happy to be finally done with the morning sickness!! YAY! Now I can actually enjoy this pregnancy instead of wondering how I was going to make it through the day with a toddler. I am still struggling to gain weight however. I'm up to a total of 17 pounds lost. I find that I am just not hungry, which is very unlike me. If you know me at all you know that I love to eat. I really have no desire to eat at all lately (thanksgiving was the exception!!). I find I have to force myself to eat, and even then I'm not eating enough because I just don't think about it. With Timmy I was STARVING constantly and ate my way up to a 60 pound weight gain. Now, I don't want to do that again. But I do want to at least gain back the 17 pounds I've lost and maybe a few more...whatever it takes to have a healthy baby. I go to the docs on Wednesday so we'll see what she says.

I'm also experiencing a ton of growing pains. It is extremely painful to walk, especially if I have been sitting for a while. With Timmy I didn't get these types of pains until the third trimester when I was huge. I guess my body just knows what it needs to do this time, so it's just going at it.

I am experiencing more and more the wonder of feeling the baby move. It's a wonderfully surprising feeling to suddenly feel a little kick, or swhoosh as the baby moves through my abdomen.

Other than that, I'm still hoping for a VBAC and not a repeat cesarean. I will be discussing this with my doc on Wednesday. The hospitals here in Muskegon don't allow VBAC but there is a hospital in Fremont (30 mins away) that does, so I'm hoping my doc can transfer me there.

That's all for this week!
Tune in next week for another weekly update on the joys and trials of pregnancy!
